Guy Langman: Crime Scene Procrastinator by Josh Berk

Like most YA novels, I read this to consider sharing with my reluctant reader students. This is a great book with a couple of real crimes with interwoven storylines. The main character’s father has died as the book begins, and his dealing with grief is one such plot with which young readers may relate. Guy is also laugh out loud funny! Humor, emotion, romance, and mystery all in one fast-moving novel.
Unfortunately for me, I can’t use this in my sixth grade classroom. Guy is a junior in high school and some of the material is too mature for me to share in middle school. It’s very entertaining and I would recommend it for high school students.
